NEET Domicile Certificate Requirements In Chandigarh

For medical aspirants in Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana, securing a domicile certificate is essential for availing the 85% state quota in MBBS and BDS admissions. Here’s a detailed guide for students from these regions.

Chandigarh NEET Domicile Rules

  • Candidates who completed Class 10, 11, and 12 in schools recognized by the Chandigarh Administration
      1. OR
  • Candidates whose parents are residents of Chandigarh for the preceding 5 years from the date of NEET application
      1. OR
  • Candidates whose parents are Central/State Government employees on deputation to Chandigarh

Realistic Example:

Reserved Category Students (Mistake) Without Proper Guidance:

In 2021, Mohan, a reserved category student, scored 480 in NEET. Despite being a Chandigarh domicile holder, his reservation certificate (आरक्षणप्रमाणपत्र) was from another state. This disqualified him from the UT Pool quota, and he lost his seat.

WithProper Guidance:

On the other hand, Priya, another reserved category student, scored 420 in NEET. Under the guidance of a professional counselor, Priya ensured all her documents—including the Chandigarh-issued reservation certificatewere complete and accurate. She secured admission successfully.

Lesson Learned:

Even a lower score can secure admission with proper guidance, while incomplete documents can cost even high scorers their seats.
