Overview

The counseling for Medical & Dental program in Kerala NEET UG 2020 is being conducted by The “COMMISSIONER FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, KERALA”. Counseling will be conducted for the 85% Government & 100% Private Medical & Dental seats. It’s an open State, which means students from other State can apply for seats under management quota in Private Medical Colleges in Kerala.
Submission of application and supporting documents is possible in online mode only. Online submission of application and supporting documents must be made by accessing the CEE website – www.cee.kerala.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must qualify NEET
  • Must be an Indian Citizen to claim a seat under Govt./Private/Management.
  • Foreign nationals can apply for seats under NRI quota.
  • Non-Domicile can only apply for Private Medical/Dental seats
  • Domicile can apply for Government, Government aided Private and Private seat.
  • Students must have passed class 12th or its equivalent exams.

Candidates seeking admission to Professional courses will be categorised as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) and Non-Keralite Category II (NK II).
(i) Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’ as per G.O. (Rt) No. 822/08/H. Edn. dated 29/05/2008. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
(ii) Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfills anyone of the following conditions will be categorized as 'Non-Keralite Category I' (NK I).
A. A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belonging to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala.
B. A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
C. A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years of his/her study. 37 KEAM-2022, © CEE, TVMd.
D A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.
E. Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for Engineering/Architecture/B. Pharma/Medical & Medical Allied courses. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

(iii) Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]: Candidates who do not come under ‘Keralite’ or 'Non-Keralite Category I' will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralite Category II'. Such candidates are not eligible for admission to Medical and Medical Allied/Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture courses in Government colleges. Fifteen percent of the seats for the admission of students to MBBS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS Courses in Self-Financing Medical colleges in Kerala are set apart for the allotment of candidates irrespective of their Domicile as per the rank list prepared by the Commissioner for the Entrance Examinations on the basis of the rank obtained in the NEET-UG 2022 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi. The ‘Non-Keralite Category II’ (NK II) candidates will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
Non-Keralites Category II [NK II]: They should upload the ‘Certificate of Completion of Qualifying Examination’ in the prescribed format given to prove their Nativity or Passport issued by Government of India to prove Indian citizenship to the online application.

CATEGORIES OF SEAT

Government – Seats in Government Medical Colleges (Only Kerala Domicile can apply)
Self-financed Private – These are non-subsidized seats in Self Financing Medical Colleges. (Only Kerala Domicile can apply)
Management – Management quota seats in Private open for students across India.

Steps involved in the counseling process

1. Register online on www.cee.kerala.gov.in
2. Registration fee – 500 For All
3. Login using your ID and password, take print out of your online application.
4. Upload documents.
5. Publication of seat vacancy.
6. Merit list will be published.
7. Choice Filling and locking.
8. Allotment of seats.
9. Report to college.
10. You can opt for up-gradation.
11. Registration will open only once before Round 1.

Important points

  • Registrations open only once before Round 1.
  • Document verification will be done physically at the time of reporting.
  • Other State students can apply for Management quota seats in Private Medical Colleges.
  • Private Medical College fee is under revision for final fixation.
  • You can exit in round 1 after allotment
  • Choice shuffling is allowed in Round 2
  • Application Acknowledgement Page of the online application must be retained for future reference
